Ingredients
2
lbs
about 4 pieces of chicken breast
1
cup
reduced-sodium soy sauce
½
cup
honey
¼
cup
hoisin sauce
1
tbsp
rice vinegar
1
tbsp
toasted sesame oil
6
–8 cloves of garlic
2
scallions
for topping
1
tsp
sesame seeds
Salt & black pepper
to taste
Instructions
Grate the garlic. This adds so much flavor and helps it melt right into the sauce.
Add everything to the slow cooker. Chicken, soy sauce, honey, hoisin, garlic, vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper—just stir it all together.
Set your slow cooker to low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours. Flip the chicken halfway through to make sure it gets nice and juicy all over.
Once the chicken is cooked, shred it right in the slow cooker. I use a hand mixer—so quick and easy!
Scoop it over rice and sprinkle with sliced scallions and sesame seeds.
