Christmas Pineapple Tree Fruit Tray
Prep Time:25 minutes
Total Time:25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 pineapple (for the tree and star topper)
  • 2 plums
  • 1 apple
  • 2 bananas
  • Lemon juice (to keep those apples fresh!)
  • 2 mandarins
  • ½ cup grapes (red or green, your choice)
  • 1/3 cup calamansi (or small citrus fruits)
  • 2 kiwis
  • Fresh mint leaves and powdered sugar for garnish

Instructions

  • Create the Christmas Tree Centerpiece. Start by cutting off the top of the pineapple (the leafy part), rinse it, and pat it dry. If you notice any damaged leaves, simply trim them off with scissors.
  • Peel the pineapple and cut off one thick circle of the fruit. Using a cookie cutter, shape the pineapple slice into a star.
  • Remove the core of the pineapple and cut the rest into bite-sized chunks.
  • Prepare the fruit by cutting the bananas into bite-sized pieces, peeling and halving the kiwis, slicing the apples and sprinkling them with lemon juice to prevent browning. Peel and separate the mandarins, quarter the plums, and serve the grapes and calamansi whole.
  • Assemble Your Fruit Tray. Place your pineapple top (Christmas tree) in the center of a large serving plate.
  • Use a toothpick to secure your pineapple star at the top of the tree.
  • Around the tree, arrange your fruits and berries in a way that’s pleasing to the eye. You can mix and match colors or keep it more organized by grouping similar fruits together.
  • Decorate with fresh mint leaves for an extra pop of green and dust the whole tray with a light sprinkle of powdered sugar.
