Ingredients

  • 500 g green beans trimmed (about 1 lb)
  • 1 10.5 oz / 300 g can cream of mushroom soup
  • 120 ml whole milk ½ cup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce optional
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 100 g crispy fried onions about 1½ cups

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and blanch for 5 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain well.
  • In a large bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce (if using), and black pepper.
  • Stir in the drained green beans and half of the crispy fried onions.
  • Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 25 minutes.
  • Top with remaining crispy fried onions and bake an additional 5–10 minutes until golden and bubbling.
