This Italian Sausage Tortellini Casserole is a warm and comforting baked pasta dish made with tender cheese tortellini, savory ground Italian sausage, rich pasta sauce, and plenty of melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
Boil the tortellini according to package directions in a large pot for 3 minutes, then drain water and add cooked tortellini to a large bowl.
Cook the italian sausage in a medium skillet over medium heat, breaking the meat apart as it cooks, until no longer pink. Drain the grease and add the meat to the bowl with tortellini.
Add the seasonings, parmesan cheese, and pasta sauce. Toss to coat.
Grease an 8x8 inch casserole dish and pour the mixture into it, spread to an even layer.
Top with mozzarella cheese and cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 20 minutes, remove foil and broil until cheese is perfectly melted.
Chop a little bit of parsley to garnish if desired.
