Ingredients

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1/2 cup butter room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Decoration

  • 1/2 cup chocolate melting chocolate
  • Valentine’s Day-themed sprinkles

Instructions

  • In a bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Add the egg and mix until well combined.
  • Add the flour and mix gently with a spatula until a smooth dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Wrap the dough tightly in cling film, shape it into a rectangle, and freeze for at least 30 minutes. This makes it easier to roll and cut.
  • Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Use heart-shaped cookie cutters to cut out your cookies.
  • Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and bake the cookies for 7–8 minutes.
  • Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the tray before transferring them to a wire rack.
  • Melt the chocolate, drizzle over the cookies, and add sprinkles while the chocolate is still soft.
