You can serve Bang Bang Shrimp as an appetizer for family movie night, pile it over lettuce for a light lunch, or spoon it over rice for a fast weeknight dinner. My kids like theirs with less spice, so I just tone down the sriracha, and it works perfectly.

5. While the shrimp cooks, dice the tomatoes and slice the green onions.

6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha, and sugar to make the Bang Bang sauce. Taste and adjust the spice by adding more sriracha if you like it hotter. Set the sauce aside.

7. Once the shrimp is cooked, place it in a large bowl and drizzle with the Bang Bang sauce. Toss gently to coat all the shrimp evenly.

Serve and Enjoy!

Important Recipe Notes

  • Use fresh or thawed shrimp: Make sure your shrimp are fully thawed and patted dry before coating to get the crispiest texture.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan: Fry the shrimp in batches to keep the oil temperature steady and ensure even crisping.
  • Adjust the spice level: The sriracha in the sauce can be added little by little—taste as you go to make it mild or spicy.
  • Drain excess oil: Place fried shrimp on paper towels to remove extra oil and keep them crispy.
  • Serve immediately: For the best texture, serve the shrimp right after tossing with the sauce. If left too long, they can get soggy.
