Important Recipe Notes

  • This chili can be made ahead and tastes even better the next day!
  • You can make it kid-friendly by cutting back on the chili powder—or kick it up with a pinch of cayenne or jalapeños if your crew loves heat.
  • If you want a lighter version, swap the ground beef for ground turkey or chicken.
  • For more veggies, diced carrots, zucchini, or even corn can be tossed in to stretch the meal and sneak in a little extra nutrition.
  • If it gets too thick, just add a little extra broth or even a splash of water to thin it out to your liking.
