Important Recipe Notes
- After cooking, make sure to drain excess grease so the taco bowl doesn’t turn oily. This keeps the flavors clean and balanced.
- Taco seasoning can be strong or mild depending on the brand. Start with 2 tbsp, then adjust if you want more flavor.
- When mixing in the seasoning, a little water helps it coat the beef evenly and keeps it juicy.
- Freshly cooked or warm rice helps everything feel more comforting and keeps the bowl from tasting dry.
- This recipe is very flexible—swap beef for chicken, turkey, or even beans for a vegetarian option.
- You can prepare the toppings ahead: Chop lettuce, tomatoes, and green onions in advance if you want an even faster dinner.
- These bowls are best enjoyed right away so the chips stay crunchy and the toppings stay fresh.
