How to Make Turkey Chocolate Bars

Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe
  • 5 candy bars (choose your favorite: wafer bars, nutty chocolate, etc.)
  • 1 marshmallow
  • Sugar eyes
  • 1 tsp chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup white chocolate
  • Yellow and red food coloring

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Start by cutting your marshmallows into discs using a knife or scissors.

2. Unwrap the candy bars and place them on a flat surface like a cutting board.

3. Melt the white chocolate in a double boiler. Add yellow food coloring and, using a pastry syringe, draw the turkey’s beak. Add two drops of chocolate where the eyes will go, and “glue” the marshmallow discs or sugar eyes in place. Add a drop of chocolate on each marshmallow to form the pupils.

4. Mix red food coloring into the remaining yellow chocolate and use it to draw the turkey’s comb and wattle.

5. Place the bars in the fridge for an hour to set. Once they’re ready, they’re good to go!

Serve and Enjoy!

Important Recipe Notes

  • Use Full-Sized Bars like Hershey’s. Mini bars may be too small to decorate.
  • Lay out all your candy eyes, candy corn, and glue dots or melted chocolate before starting—this makes assembly quicker and neater.
  • Use melted chocolate or royal icing for sticking on the decorations.
  • You can prep these a few days in advance and store them in a cool, dry place—perfect for party planning!
  • You can swap in other candies for the feathers or faces, depending on what you have on hand.
