How to Make Reindeer Chocolate Covered Oreos

Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe
  • 14 Oreo cookies
  • 10 oz milk chocolate melting wafers
  • 14 red mini M&Ms
  • 28 edible eyes
  • Mini pretzels

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Before you start with the chocolate, grab your mini pretzels and break them into “C”-shaped pieces.

2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt your milk chocolate wafers in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is smooth and silky. This helps prevent overheating, which can cause the chocolate to seize up.

3. Now for the fun part! Working with one Oreo at a time, dunk it into the melted chocolate. Use a fork to flip the cookie, making sure it’s completely coated. Let the excess chocolate drip off before placing it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

4. While the chocolate is still soft, press two pretzel pieces into the top of each Oreo to create antlers. Add two edible eyes just beneath the pretzels, then pop a red mini M&M under the eyes for the nose.

5. Pop your decorated Oreos into the freezer for about 10 minutes to let the chocolate harden.

6. Once the chocolate is set, your Reindeer Chocolate Covered Oreos are ready to enjoy!

Serve and Enjoy!

Important Recipe Notes

  • Break the mini pretzels carefully into “C” shapes so they sit nicely as antlers.
  • Melt the chocolate slowly in 30-second intervals, stirring in between to keep it smooth and avoid burning.
  • Work with one Oreo at a time to make sure the chocolate coating is even and the decorations stick.
  • Press the candy eyes and red M&M nose gently before the chocolate sets.
  • Chill the decorated Oreos in the freezer for about 10 minutes to let the chocolate harden.
  • Store finished Oreos in an airtight container in the fridge to keep them fresh and firm.
