grinch oreos ingredients

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to avoid any mess and make for easy cleanup.

2. In a microwave-safe bowl, add your green candy melts. Heat them in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring between each interval until the candy is fully melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat!

3. Once the candy is melted, dip each Oreo cookie halfway into the green candy coating. Make sure both sides are fully coated, then set the cookies on your prepared parchment paper. Repeat until all Oreos are dipped.

4. Before the candy coating hardens, sprinkle each Oreo with a pinch of green sanding sugar. This adds a little sparkle and texture to your cookies, making them extra festive.

5. Dip a heart sprinkle into the remaining melted candy, then stick it onto the uncoated side of each Oreo.

6. Allow your Grinch Oreos to sit for a few minutes to fully set. Once the candy coating has hardened, they’re ready to enjoy!

Serve and Enjoy!

Important Recipe Notes

  • Heat in short 30-second bursts and stir between intervals. Overheating can cause the candy to seize.
  • Make sure the cookies are completely cool and dry before dipping to help the candy stick evenly.
  • Add the sanding sugar while the candy coating is still soft so it adheres properly.
  • Use a small dab of melted candy to secure them; this acts like edible glue.
  • Store Oreos in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Avoid the fridge, as moisture can make the candy coating dull.
