Step-by-Step Guide
1. Boil water in a large pot and cook the lo mein noodles according to the package. Add broccoli halfway through. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat oil and cook shredded carrots and steak over medium-high heat for 5-8 minutes until the beef is cooked.

4. Mix garlic, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, ground ginger, pepper, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.

5. Add noodles and broccoli to the skillet, pour the sauce over everything, and stir to coat.

6. Top with green onions or sesame seeds if you like.

Important Recipe Notes
- If you don’t have Lo Mein noodles, spaghetti or other long pasta can be used. Just cook according to package instructions.
- Freeze your steak for 30 minutes before slicing – it makes cutting thin strips much easier.
- Fresh broccoli is best, but frozen works too. If using frozen, steam it first in the microwave instead of boiling.
- Taste and adjust the sauce before adding it to the pan. Add more soy sauce for saltiness, or a little chili sauce if you like spice.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.
