Green and Grinchy! Make These Grinch Oreo Balls

There’s something about the holidays that always brings out my inner Grinch—but in a good way! I love all things festive and fun, and when I stumbled upon this idea for Grinch Oreo Balls, I knew I had to give it a try. These little treats are not only super cute, but they’re also ridiculously easy to make, which is perfect when life gets busy around the holidays.

Whether you’re whipping these up for a holiday party or just want something fun to snack on while watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas (a must in my house), these Oreo balls will definitely spread some Christmas cheer. Let’s get into it!

How to Make Grinch Oreo Balls

Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe
  • 40 Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 20 oz Ghirardelli White Vanilla Flavored Melting Wafers (about 1.5 bags)
  • 4 drops green food coloring
  • 20 red candy heart sprinkles

Step by Step Guide

1. Start by placing your 40 Oreo cookies into a food processor and blend them until they become fine crumbs. If you don’t have a food processor, no worries—just place them in a sealed ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin.

2. Once your Oreos are finely crushed, add in the cream cheese. Blend or mix everything until it becomes a thick, sticky mixture that looks a bit like mud—don’t worry, it tastes way better than it looks!

3. Using a one-tablespoon cookie scoop (or just eyeball it), scoop out some of the Oreo mixture and roll it into balls with your hands. This part can get a little messy, but that’s half the fun, right? Place each rolled ball on a tray or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

4. Once all your balls are rolled, pop them in the freezer for at least 2 hours to firm up.

5. Now that your Oreo balls are frozen, it’s time for the fun part—dipping them in chocolate! Melt 15 oz of Ghirardelli white vanilla-flavored melting wafers according to the instructions on the bag. Once melted, add 4 drops of green food coloring and mix until the chocolate is evenly green.

6. Using a skewer or toothpick, dip each Oreo ball into the melted green chocolate, making sure it’s fully coated. Place the dipped balls back on the parchment paper to dry.

7. Melt the remaining white chocolate (about 5 oz) in a piping bag by microwaving it on defrost mode for 1-minute intervals, stirring in between. Once melted, drizzle the white chocolate over the Oreo balls for some fun decoration.

8. To finish off the Grinch theme, press a red heart sprinkle on each Oreo ball before the chocolate sets. The little red heart is the perfect touch—it’ll remind everyone of the Grinch’s growing heart at the end of the story!

And that’s it! These Grinch Oreo Balls are seriously so fun to make and even more fun to eat. I love how they add a little playful twist to holiday treats, and they’re always a hit with friends and family. Plus, they’re the perfect snack for a holiday movie night, especially if you’re watching The Grinch! Give them a try, and let me know how they turn out—I’d love to hear what you think. Happy holidays and enjoy every bite!
