How to Make Strawberry Shortcake Balls
Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe

Step-by-Step Guide
1. Prepare the strawberry cake mix according to the package instructions. Bake as directed, then let the cake cool completely at room temperature.

2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
3. Once the cake is fully cooled, crumble it into a large mixing bowl. Add the softened cream cheese and mix together by hand (this is easiest) or with a sturdy spoon until fully combined and smooth. Stir in ¾ cup of the crushed Golden Oreos.

4. Scoop and roll the mixture into 1–2 tablespoon-sized balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

5. Freeze the balls for 20 minutes to firm up.
6. Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
7. Using a fork, dip one ball at a time into the melted chocolate, turning to fully coat. Let any excess chocolate drip off, then place back onto the parchment-lined sheet. Working quickly (the chocolate sets very fast), sprinkle with the remaining crushed Golden Oreos and crushed freeze-dried strawberries. Repeat with remaining balls.

8. Let sit at room temperature until the chocolate has fully hardened, about 10 minutes.

Serve & Enjoy!

Important Recipe Notes
- Make sure the cake is completely cooled before mixing. If it’s even a little warm, the mixture will turn too soft and sticky to roll properly.
- Don’t skip the freezing step before dipping. This helps the balls firm up so they don’t fall apart in the melted chocolate.
- When mixing the cake and cream cheese, use your hands or a sturdy spoon. It may feel messy at first, but this helps everything blend smoothly and evenly.
- If the mixture feels too soft, you can add a little more crushed Golden Oreos to help it hold shape better.
- Work in small batches when dipping in white chocolate because it sets quickly. Keep the rest of the balls in the freezer while you work.
- Add the freeze-dried strawberries last or just before serving if you want them to stay bright and crunchy. They soften fast once they touch moisture or chocolate.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days for best taste and texture.
- You can also freeze the undipped balls for later use—just thaw slightly before coating in chocolate.
