Growing up, I always remembered the cookie trays at Christmas parties—there was something about seeing all the different holiday treats lined up. Now that I’m the one making them for my family, I like to mix in easy, festive recipes that don’t take all day in the kitchen.

How to Make Santa Nutter Butter Cookies

Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe
  • 1 (16 oz.) package of Nutter Butters
  • 1 (12 oz.) package of vanilla almond bark
  • 32 white chocolate chips
  • 32 red hot candies (or red mini M&Ms)
  • 64 miniature chocolate chips
  • Red sanding sugar

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Melt the almond bark in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth.

2. Line a cutting board or baking sheet with parchment paper.

3. Dip one end of the cookie in almond bark for Santa’s hat and the other end for his beard. Shake off the extra coating.

4. Sprinkle the red sanding sugar on the hat end. Place the cookie on parchment.

5. Quickly press on a white chocolate chip at the tip of the hat. Add a red candy nose with a little almond bark as glue. Place two mini chocolate chips for the eyes. Repeat with all cookies.

6. Let them set for about 1 hour until the almond bark is firm.

Important Recipe Notes

  • Once the almond bark is melted, work quickly, as it starts to firm up as it cools. Have your candies ready so you can decorate right after dipping.
  • If you can’t find red hot candies, red mini M&Ms work perfectly for Santa’s nose.
  • Red sanding sugar gives the best “Santa hat” look, but you can also use red sprinkles or crushed candy canes.
  • Keep the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature. They’ll stay fresh for about 5–7 days.
  • These cookies can be made a day or two before your party. Just let them fully set before storing.
