Important Recipe Notes

  • Use thick-sliced bacon for best results. Thin bacon may shrink too much and not hold the “shot” shape.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened before mixing to ensure a smooth filling.
  • If you don’t have a piping bag, a small zip-top bag with the corner snipped works perfectly.
  • Cook in batches if needed. Don’t overcrowd the basket so the bacon crisps evenly.
  • Serve immediately for the crispiest bacon. If making ahead, reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to bring back the crisp.
  • You can add spices like smoked paprika or chopped green onions to the cheese mixture for extra flavor.
  • Cut the toothpicks shorter or remove them before serving to make them easier for kids.
