It’s a quick treat for kids’ parties, Halloween snacks, or even a fun activity for kids to make at playdates. The gummy worms and cookie “dirt” give it that playful dirt cake look that kids love.

I love serving them with other chocolate Oreo recipes that go perfectly for a dessert board or tray.

4. Immediately sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookies evenly over the chocolate. Add the gummy worms on top, gently pressing them into the chocolate so they stick. Add larger Oreo pieces if you’d like a little extra crunch.

Important Recipe Notes

  • Use good-quality chocolate. Cookies and cream chocolate bars melt more smoothly and set better, which helps the bark hold together when you break it into pieces.
  • Once the chocolate is spread on the baking sheet, add the Oreo crumbs and gummy worms right away so they stick before the chocolate starts to set.
  • Lightly press the gummy worms and larger Oreo pieces into the chocolate so they stay in place after the bark hardens.
  • Crush Oreos to your preferred texture. Fine crumbs give it more of a “dirt” look, while larger pieces add extra crunch.
  • If you’re short on time, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 10 to 15 minutes to help the bark set faster.
  • Once hardened, simply snap the bark into pieces with your hands for that classic dessert bark style.
  • Keep the bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
