Important Recipe Notes:
- Make ahead friendly: You can prep the cake, berries, and whipped cream the day before. Just assemble the trifles a few hours before serving so everything stays fresh and pretty.
- Whipped cream tip: Homemade whipped cream holds up best, but if you’re in a pinch, store-bought whipped topping works too.
- Chill before serving: Pop the assembled trifles in the fridge for 1–2 hours before serving for the best texture and flavor.
- Kid-friendly & customizable: Let the kids help layer! You can also swap in different berries or even add a layer of pudding or jam for a twist.
