How to Make Loader Tater Cups
Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe

Step-by-Step Guide
1. Preheat the oven and bake the tater tots according to package directions. (The brand I used baked for 25 minutes at 425 degrees.)

2. Once those are done, remove from the oven, and add two tater tots to each cavity of a 24 count muffin tin.
3. Use The back of a spoon to smash the tater tots into the muffin tins. Then use the pestle to form a cup in the center.

4. Transfer the muffin pan to the oven, and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
5. Remove from the oven, and remove the tater tot cups from the muffin pan, and set upright on a cutting board, or the baking sheet you used to bake the tater tots.
6. Add the sour cream to a piping bag or ziploc baggie, equipped with a frosting tip (or you can just snip off the end), and pipe some sour cream into each of the tater tot cups.

7. Sprinkle each of the tater tot cups with cheese and bacon pieces.

Serve and Enjoy!

Important Recipe Notes
- This recipe makes 24 tater tot cups. If you’re serving them as a side dish, plan on about 6 per person (perfect for 4 people). As an appetizer, they’ll stretch a bit further!
- Be sure to bake the tater tots first before shaping them into cups—this helps them crisp up and hold their shape better.
- If you’re making a big batch, you can press the tots into muffin tins to form the cups, then gently transfer them to a baking sheet to finish baking if you’re short on muffin pans.
- A piping bag (or ziplock with the corner snipped off) makes filling the cups so much easier and prettier! You can totally skip the frosting tip if you’re in a rush.
- You can swap cheddar for pepper jack, or add a little green onion or jalapeño for a kick!
