Important Recipe Notes
- Soften the cream cheese fully. If it’s too cold, the mixture will be lumpy and harder to mix smoothly. Let it sit at room temperature before starting.
- Crush the cookies finely. Fine crumbs mix better with the cream cheese and help the balls hold their shape.
- Do not skip the freezer step. Chilling the balls for 30 minutes makes dipping much easier and keeps them from falling apart.
- Melt coating slowly. Heat the almond bark and candy melts in short 30-second increments. Stir well each time to prevent burning.
- Work in small batches. Keep some Oreo balls in the freezer while you dip the others so they stay firm.
- Store in the refrigerator. These should be kept chilled in an airtight container. They stay fresh for about 4–5 days.
- You can freeze them for longer storage. Thaw in the fridge before serving.
