How to Make Christmas S’mores Graham Cracker Bark

Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe
  • 12 graham crackers
  • 10.5 oz bag mini marshmallows
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Christmas M&Ms
  • 2-3 tbsp red, green, and white nonpareils

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Start by lining a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the graham crackers in a neat 4-by-3 grid.

2. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the mini marshmallows and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each session, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.

Grease your silicone spoon before spreading the marshmallow mixture—this sticky task just got way easier! Spread the marshmallow mixture evenly over the graham crackers.

3. Next, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a small microwave-safe bowl. Just like before, microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring until velvety smooth. Spread the melted chocolate over the marshmallow layer, creating a luscious coating.

4. Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle on the red and green M&Ms and a generous handful of nonpareils.

5. Pop the baking sheet into the fridge for about an hour. Once the bark is fully set, remove it from the fridge and cut it into squares or irregular pieces.

Serve and Enjoy!

Important Recipe Notes

  • Make sure your graham crackers are crisp and not stale — they form the base and add that perfect crunch.
  • Line Your Pan Well: Parchment paper is a must! It makes cleanup easier and helps the bark lift right off once it’s set.
  • Melt Marshmallows Slowly: Microwave in short bursts and stir often. This keeps the mixture smooth and prevents it from hardening too fast.
  • Grease Your Utensils: A quick spritz of nonstick spray or butter on your spoon makes spreading that sticky marshmallow mixture so much easier.
  • Work Quickly When Layering: The chocolate and marshmallow layers set fast, so have your toppings ready before you start.
  • Chill, Don’t Freeze: Set the bark in the fridge for about an hour. Freezing can make it too hard and cause the chocolate to crack when cutting.
  • For clean cuts, let the bark sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or in the fridge for a week. Just note — refrigeration can make the crackers a little softer.
  • Let the kids sprinkle on the M&Ms and nonpareils — it’s a simple, mess-friendly way to get them involved in the holiday fun!
