How to Make Strawberry Sorbet

  • 2 cups white granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 ½ cups frozen strawberries

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. In a saucepan, add the sugar and water. Mix together over medium heat until the sugar completely dissolves. Then remove from the heat and let cool completely.

2. In a blender, add the frozen strawberries, the lemon juice, and the cooled simple syrup at once.

3. Blend on high until completely smooth. Transfer the blended strawberry mixture into a loaf pan and spread evenly.

4. Place in the freezer and freeze for at least 5 hours or overnight until frozen.

Serve and Enjoy!

Scoop and serve the strawberry sorbet in a serving bowl.

Important Recipe Notes:

  • Use ripe, sweet strawberries: The sweetness of your sorbet depends on the quality of your strawberries. Make sure they’re perfectly ripe for the best flavor.
  • Skip the sugar: If your strawberries are sweet enough, you can skip the sugar or adjust the amount to your liking.
  • Blend the strawberries and liquids until smooth for the perfect sorbet texture. If you want a chunkier texture, pulse the blender a little less.
  • Freeze time varies: Depending on the temperature of your freezer, the sorbet may take a bit longer to set, so plan ahead and give it a couple of hours to fully freeze.
  • Customize the flavor: You can swap in other berries or add a splash of lemon or lime juice to balance out the sweetness.
  • Serve soft: If your sorbet becomes too hard after freezing, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping for the perfect consistency.
