How to Make Pepperoni Rose Skewers

Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe
  • 6 oz. sliced pepperoni
  • 8 oz. marinated mozzarella balls, drained
  • Fresh basil leaves

Step by Step Guide

1. Lay 4 slices of pepperoni in a row, slightly overlapping.

2. Fold the entire row in half lengthwise (you’ll end up with a flat edge on the bottom).

3. Starting at one end, gently roll the folded pepperoni into a spiral—it’ll look just like a little rose!

4. Carefully slide your pepperoni rose onto a skewer.

5. Add a fresh basil leaf.

6. Finish with a marinated mozzarella ball.

7. Repeat for the rest of your skewers.

Serve and Enjoy!

Serve right away or pop them in the fridge until party time!

Important Recipe Notes

  • Use thin-sliced pepperoni so it folds and rolls easily into rose shapes—thicker slices may be harder to work with.
  • If you don’t have marinated mozzarella balls, plain ones work too—just use what you have on hand.
  • If you’re making these ahead, add the basil just before serving to keep it from wilting.
  • Chill until serving – these skewers can be made a few hours in advance and kept covered in the fridge.
  • Use toothpicks or bamboo cocktail forks for assembling—just make sure they’re sturdy enough to hold the ingredients.
  • Serve on a wooden board or arrange in a circle like a “charcuterie wreath” for an extra fun presentation.
