Step by Step Guide

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.

2. Remove the ham from its packaging and place it in a casserole or baking dish.

3. Open the can of pineapple slices and tuck the slices between the cuts in the ham. Pour the pineapple juice over the ham as well.

4. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the ham and pineapple. Adjust the amount of sugar if you prefer it sweeter or less sweet.

5. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for about 1.5 hours. This helps the ham heat through, and the flavors blend.

6. Check on the ham a few times while it’s cooking and baste it with the juices from the pan to keep it moist.

7. If your ham came with a glaze packet, you can mix it with some pineapple juice and brush it over the ham during the last 15-20 minutes of cooking for extra flavor.

8. Once done, slice the ham and serve it with the pineapple slices.

Serve and Enjoy!

Important Recipe Notes

  • Use a pre-cooked spiral ham: This recipe is meant for fully cooked hams—you’re just warming it through and adding flavor.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste: Start with ¼ cup brown sugar, but feel free to use more or less depending on how sweet you like it.
  • The size of your ham can affect the baking time. A meat thermometer can help—you’re aiming for 140°F internal temp.
  • Baste if you can: Spoon the juices over the ham once or twice while it bakes to keep it juicy and flavorful.
