Step-by-Step Guide

1. Rinse the strawberries in a colander and pat them dry really well—any water left on them can make the chocolate seize up. Chill them in the fridge for about an hour before dipping.

2. Using a double boiler (or the microwave in short bursts), melt the white chocolate until smooth.

3. Stick a skewer into each strawberry and dip it into the melted chocolate. Let any excess drip off, then stand them upright in a glass or a bowl filled with rice/cereal to set.

4. Before the chocolate sets completely, sprinkle a few of the strawberries with green chocolate shards. Place them in the fridge to firm up.

5. Tint the remaining white chocolate with green food coloring, transfer it to a piping bag (or a small ziplock bag with the corner snipped), and drizzle over the strawberries in a zig-zag pattern. Repeat with melted dark chocolate for extra contrast.

6. Pop them back into the fridge for about 20 minutes until the chocolate is fully set.

Serve and Enjoy!

Important Recipe Notes

  • Make sure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping. Any water can cause the chocolate to seize.
  • Place strawberries in the fridge for about an hour before dipping to help the chocolate set better.
  • Use a Skewer or Toothpick: This makes dipping easier and keeps your hands clean.
  • Stand the dipped strawberries in a glass or bowl filled with rice or cereal to keep them upright while the chocolate hardens.
  • Melt the chocolate slowly using a double boiler or in short microwave bursts to avoid burning.
  • Add green shards and drizzle designs before the chocolate fully hardens so they stick properly.
  • Keep the finished strawberries in the fridge until ready to serve, but try to eat them the same day for the freshest taste.
