How to Make White Chocolate Mini Pretzel Trees

Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe
  • 48 mini pretzel sticks
  • 7 oz white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp red, green, and white nonpareils

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Start by lining a couple of baking sheets (or your kitchen counter) with parchment paper.

2. Lay out your mini pretzel sticks on the parchment, leaving about 3-4 inches between each stick.

3. Add the olive oil to your white chocolate wafers and pour the mixture into a piping bag. Place the bag in the microwave and heat in 30-second intervals, massaging the bag between each round, until the chocolate is fully melted.

4. Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, snip off a tiny bit from the end of the piping bag. Now, in a zigzag, back-and-forth motion, pipe the white chocolate over the pretzel sticks. Start narrow at the top to mimic the point of a Christmas tree, and widen as you move down, leaving about an inch of the pretzel stick exposed at the bottom for the “tree trunk.”

5. While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle your red, green, and white nonpareils generously over the “branches.”

6. Once you’ve piped all your trees and decorated them with sprinkles, let the chocolate harden for about 20 minutes. If you’re in a hurry, you can pop the tray into the fridge to speed up the process.

Serve and Enjoy!

Important Recipe Notes

  • Use good-quality melting wafers: White chocolate melts more smoothly and sets better with melting wafers.
  • Add a little oil: The olive oil helps make the chocolate easier to pipe and less likely to crack when hardened.
  • Pipe the chocolate and add sprinkles while it’s still soft so they stick well.
  • Allow 20 minutes for the chocolate to harden at room temperature, or chill in the fridge for faster setting.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
