Step-by-Step Guide

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Unroll each cinnamon roll and cut it in half. Roll each half back up into a smaller cinnamon roll and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Pillsbury Grands bake up quite large, so cutting them in half makes them a more manageable size. If you are using smaller cinnamon rolls, you can skip this step.

3. Bake for 8–12 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are puffed and lightly golden around the edges.

Important Recipe Notes

  • If you are using Pillsbury Grands or other large cinnamon rolls, cutting each one in half before rolling them back up makes the reindeer a better size for decorating. Smaller cinnamon rolls can be used whole.
  • Have extra pretzels ready: Mini pretzels can break when you split them for the antlers, so it’s a good idea to have a few extras on hand.
  • Decorate while the icing is soft: Add the candy eyes, red M&M, and pretzel antlers right after drizzling on the icing. This helps everything stick before the icing starts to set.
  • Keep an eye on the baking time: Cinnamon rolls can vary in size and brand, so start checking them around 8 minutes. They should be puffed and lightly golden around the edges.
  • Use any canned cinnamon rolls: You don’t have to use Pillsbury Grands. Your favorite canned cinnamon rolls will work, but the number of reindeer you get will depend on the size and number of rolls in the can.
