Not only are they super easy to make, but they also look so cute and festive. Plus, who doesn’t love a little chocolate paired with that refreshing peppermint flavor?
These sweet treats are perfect for sharing at holiday parties, giving as gifts, or simply enjoying with your family while watching holiday movies. With just a few ingredients and some simple steps, you can create something that looks like it came from a fancy bakery. Let’s dive into how to make these delightful little hearts!
How to Make Candy Cane Hearts
Ingredients you’ll need for this recipe
Step by Step Guide
1. Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. This will help prevent the candy cane hearts from sticking and make cleanup a breeze.
2. Place your mini candy canes on the baking sheet, arranging them into heart shapes. You’ll need 32 candy canes to make 16 hearts, so get creative!
3. In a microwave-safe bowl, add the milk chocolate chips. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring well between each interval, until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Do the same with the white chocolate chips in a separate bowl.
4. Once your chocolates are melted, pour the milk chocolate into a plastic storage bag or piping bag. Repeat this step for the white chocolate.
5. Now, it’s time to fill those candy cane hearts! Use the milk chocolate to flood the inside of 8 hearts and the white chocolate for the other 8. Be generous; we want a nice, thick layer of chocolate.
6. While the chocolate is still wet, quickly sprinkle your Christmas sprinkles on top.
7. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, or until the chocolate has set.
And there you have it! These Candy Cane Hearts are a delightful way to spread some holiday cheer! They’re not only easy to make but also incredibly fun, especially when you get the kids involved. So gather your loved ones, turn on some holiday music, and whip up these charming treats. Happy holidays and happy snacking!
